The Board of Trustees and Staff of the Suicide and Crisis Center of North Texas announce the semi-retirement of our beloved Executive Director, Margie Wright. Margie has served as the Suicide and Crisis Center’s Executive Director for 26 years. Her leadership has been instrumental in expanding our services, strengthening our community partnerships, and helping countless individuals during their most vulnerable moments.
Margie’s entire career has been spent in service of others, and we thank her for all of her work on behalf of the Suicide and Crisis Center. Margie’s singular influence is visible in every aspect of the Center; she was the Center’s pulse that provided the rhythm to the Center’s operations. Without Margie’s guidance and leadership, the Suicide and Crisis Center’s important work with Survivors of Suicide, 24-Hour Crisis Line, and educational programs would not have been able to reach so many people and save so many lives, both literally and figuratively.
While stepping back from full-time responsibilities, Margie will continue to serve the Center in an advisory capacity. She will always have a home here, and her help will always be welcome. Her continued involvement will allow the Center to continue to benefit from her wealth of experience and institutional knowledge while she enjoys a well-deserved reduction in day-to-day obligations.
The Board has initiated a search for an Executive Director to ensure a smooth transition of leadership without disruption to the Center’s services to the community.
We invite the community to join us in celebrating Margie’s remarkable contributions and thanking her for her decades of dedication to suicide prevention and crisis intervention in North Texas.
For questions regarding this transition, please contact the Board of Trustees at Board@sccenter.org.
